Miyajima (Itsukushima), Hiroshima in April

Between the meetings in Hiroshima, where I visited for the first time, Alice and I jumped on a boat from Hiroshima Peace Memorial Park to Miyajima.

An iconic Torii sits in the water, while deer roam around the tiny island. Miyajima was so much more sophisticated than I remember. 

Stylish cafes and restaurants among traditional omiyage (souvenir) shops are fun to explore.
