Ome, Tokyo in August
Ome, situated deep west in Tokyo, is a lovely and cool place to visit on a hot summer day. The beautiful, clear Tama River runs by Sawanoi-En, an outdoor cafe and restaurant that serves Soba and traditional Japanese meals.
Sawanoi-En is owned by Ozawa Brewery, a 300-year-old brewery. The entire compound, located by the Tama River, houses a brewery, cafe and restaurant, museum, BBQ spot, and temple modeled after an old Chinese temple.
